A Lansing man has accepted a plea deal in an alleged sexual assault case involving a 13-year-old runaway boy. According to reports, the man pleaded guilty in Ingham County Circuit Court to second-degree criminal sexual conduct. MCL Section 750.520c provides that criminal sexual conduct in the second degree is a felony, and punishable by imprisonment “for not more than 15 years.” Because this is Carey’s second offense, he faces at least five years in prison.
